Creating success in life and business is something most of desire. In today’s video, Dr. Mike will share 7 tips for success that you can start using today.

Hello, and welcome to another episode of Living Well with Dr Mike. I’m your host, Dr. Mike Cockrell, and I want to thank you so much for taking a moment of your time to join me here today. In today’s episode, I’m going to be sharing with you seven tips for success that you can actually use today. If you stay consistent in your efforts to achieve your life goals, we know you’re going to be successful. When you’re successful, you feel great inside. You transmit positive energy others, and life just seems to open up before you. Today what I want to do is I want to go through seven strategies that will help you create more success in your life and help you pursue that sweet life that you’re craving.
Okay, let’s just jump right into these. Number one, find a mentor. I have made more strides in my business and my personal life since I started using coaches and mentors than you can imagine. I worked online for several years, struggling, doing it myself, trying to figure things out, trying to get things done, and literally when I took on a new coach and a mentor that had already done what I wanted to do … Seek out people who have done what you want to accomplish, and then pick their brains, hire them, whatever you have to do to get them to help you escalate, because it rapidly accelerates your growth when you have a mentor. When you can find somebody that’s already got a specific skill set, that’s already doing a particular thing, that’s already successful at what they’re doing, and pick their brain, you can rapidly, I mean literally it will cut a year and a half off your learning curve just instantaneously to have a mentor.
Number two, care less about what others think of you and more about how you feel about yourself. When you react to what other people think of you, it really hampers your own sense of self. Instead, listen to your heart. Recognize that what you want for yourself is far more important than what other people seem to want for you. Get out there and go after your dreams.
Number three, be clear about your life goals. You’ve probably heard me talk about this in some other segments, because creating a clear path is essential to success. Nothing can derail your efforts for success like being unsure about what you want. To get clarity on your goals, I suggest that you journal about where you want to be, both physically, mentally, spiritually in the next one year, three years, five years and ten years. Looking ahead is going to lead you to see what steps you’re going to have to take to reach that level of success that you’re seeking.
Number four, surround yourself with positive people. If you have friends who rarely work, who complain frequently about their careers, who make unhealthy life choices, they are likely bringing negativity into your life. When you hang out with those who are upbeat, interested in making a difference and committed to personal achievement, you will find yourself modeling their feelings and their behaviors. Practicing their way of living will put you on the road to success.
Number five, embrace your failures. Rather than fearing and loathing the mistakes you’ve made, take them in, study them, find the lessons in them. Every time we trip and fall and every time we make a mistake, take that as a learning experience Pick something up out of it, understand what’s going on, accept your errors and they will provide you with the information that you need and are required to move you to the next level of success.
Number six, each day take a step closer to your goals. One of the best ways to keep your goals in mind is to infuse aspects of them into your daily life. If you want to save $10,000.00 for a trip to Europe, at the end of each day, place all your change in a money jar. You can literally watch your goal come to fruition. Add a $10.00 or $20.00 bill at the end of the week, sort of boost it along. When you put that goal into a physical state so that you can see it, feel it, touch it, smell it, hear it, taste it, it becomes so much more clear. It becomes so much more real and it is so much easier to maintain and continue to move forward with your motivation. When you do something daily to work towards a goal, it becomes an important aspect of your routine. Creating daily habits is essential to creating long life, health, wealth and happiness. You’ll feel happier, you’ll feel more in control, and you’ll have an increased amount of confidence in what you’re doing.
Number seven, use a pros and cons list to make quick decisions. If you’ve ever been unsure about a decision you’ll appreciate learning to jot down a quick pros and cons list. Weighing out the positives and the negatives of the issue can lead you in a positive direction. I also encourage you to listen to your gut. Your initial instinct often times is your first and your correct impression. When your gut’s trying to tell you something, don’t just blow it off and ignore it and keep moving forward. Stop and ponder it. You may make a decision that goes against what you initially thought, but at least it’s your reminder that you need to stop and think. Rather than staying in a state of confusion and uncertainty, using this method to obtain better control over what vexes you is an ideal way to keep moving forward.
Regardless of where you’re at in life, you can get closer to achieving your goals by applying these useful tips. Use your inner strength to create more dramatic personal growth within yourself, and get started today. Don’t wait, don’t hesitate. Do it now, and do it right now.
